Mother's Day In a Pandemic - Thoughtful Gifting

The pandemic has really changed how we do things. Celebrations have been different, whether for birthdays, anniversaries and/or weddings and with Mother's Day coming up, just one week from now, I know there are persons wondering how they can celebrate Mom in a pandemic.

Since becoming a Mom, I suddenly understand the ingenuity it took to become a successful working parent, and how challenging it may be at times. I don't know about you, but I am exhausted.

MOMS need to be celebrated, and though things may be a bit different, here are a few ideas that moms may love:

Personalized Gifts

A personalized gift is a very thoughtful gift, especially if it's one that will last a lifetime. There are so many IG stores that does customization of Tumblrs. Mugs, T-shirt, Tote Bags, Wine Glasses, Towels, Make-up Bags, Pillows, etc. Just about anything you wish to personalized. Two stores I have followed on IG who does amazing work are @lovestruckcollection, @tee_tings and @sweets_custom_creations. This is a good idea, especially in a pandemic.

Brunch

A brunch is always a good idea. A time to get out of the house, away from the kids for a few hours, eating and chatting away, catching up on some time with your husband or friends. A lot of restaurants have posted about their Mother's Day Brunch such as District 5, Sky Dweller and @theporchja. These are good hang out brunch spots.

However, if it is that money may be tight, have a brunch at home. Daddies, let the kids help you with dinner, set up the dining table, lit a candle and eat as a family. Nothing beats family time.

Spa

Every woman loves a good spa day, even if it's at home. Give her the day to go get pampered, with your money of course :) A massage for that body which has been working overtime, a pedicure for those tiring feet and a manicure for those hands which have been slaving at all times. even a facial or a body scrub will do. You may also send her to have her hair done. Women love getting dolled up. If mom loves to have her hair braided like me, then you should probably send her to @babaestyles and if mom has short hair or wants a new look, send her to @beautyfetish__.

You can even have the spa day at home. daddies and the kids can rub mommy's feet, give her a massage, paint her nails, do her hair, etc. Don't forget to make it fun and memorable.

A Day/ Weekend Trip

Who doesn't love an outing? Gather the kids and take mom to the beach or on an adventure. A relaxing day at the beach may just be what mom needs. Daddies, if you listen carefully, moms will utter about somewhere she's been dying to go. Moms love a good adventure. Most adventurous places are having covid deals now- make use of it - Yaaman Adventures, Dolphin Cove, Mystic Mountain, Chukka Caribbean.

The hotels are also having amazing deals and most travel agencies are making it easier. agencies such as @dreamdestinations, @tourpintravels, @kmlenterprise, @cheapvacationtravels.

Household Items

You can't go wrong with Kitchen and Household Items. Just listen, Moms will always say what they need when it comes on to household appliances. Pot sets, Sheet sets, Cutlery, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Baking appliances, etc. This is also a good idea for Moms who love to cook, bake and are always in the kitchen and for moms who just love a good home decor. Gadgets

If Mom is Tech Savvy, now is the perfect time to get her something new or an upgrade. Her own tablet since I am sure the kids took over hers (mine definitely did). A new phone of she so needs one or upgrade the one she has. She will definitely appreciate this gesture.

Everyday Gifts

These are gifts that you really don't have to wait on a specific moment to gift it. Gifts such as flowers, perfume, jewellery, clothing, favourite food, favorite drink, etc.

Some Moms really do look forward to Mother's Day. Some will tell you off the bat what it is they want for Mother's Day, some won't. There are little things you can do also that doesn't require much thought. Take her shopping, clear her amazon cart, give her a kids-free day, get her nails done, cook dinner, etc. Also, if mom has a hobby or a business, support her. Help her out with her business activities for the day, help her to package items for delivery. If its her hobby, help out as much as you can. You know the women in your life, you know what they like, so let's make Mother's Day memorable for all our moms.
